Terms of participation. What applies to every visit.

Anyone can shoot with us – without a firearms carry permit (Waffenschein) and without any previous experience. To keep that safe for everyone, a few clear rules apply at our range: you must be of legal age, carry a valid photo ID, have 0.0 blood alcohol and follow the range officer's instructions.

A few rules – applied consistently to everyone.

These terms apply equally to taster shooting, shooting training, group and corporate events, club sessions and courses. They form part of every booking and are explained during the safety briefing on site.

The terms of participation in detail.

01

Age: participation from 18 years

Shooting with live firearms at our range is possible from the age of 18. The legal basis is § 27 of the German Firearms Act (Waffengesetz): on an approved shooting range, adults may shoot under the supervision of a responsible range supervisor – without a firearms carry permit (Waffenschein) and without a firearms ownership licence (Waffenbesitzkarte, WBK).

Minors may take part under § 27 WaffG with the written consent of their parents or legal guardians – with air guns and rimfire .22 firearms, not with centrefire/large calibre. Please arrange the programme for minors with us in advance.

Photo ID: identity before the first shot

Every shooter presents a valid official photo ID before shooting – a national identity card, passport or residence permit. A driving licence is not sufficient. Without photo ID, participation is not possible; for groups, please remember that this applies to every single person.

We record participation in line with the regulations for shooting ranges. A firearms carry permit, a firearms ownership licence or club membership are not required for taster shooting.

03

Zero tolerance: no alcohol, no drugs

A 0.0 blood alcohol limit applies to all shooters at our range. Anyone under the influence of alcohol, drugs or impairing medication does not shoot – not even after a single glass. The same applies to accompanying persons who enter the lane.

The range officer decides on site. Where impairment is apparent, participation ends without discussion or does not begin at all. For stag and hen parties and corporate events this means: shoot first, celebrate afterwards – the ApexLounge opens once the shooting is over.

04

The range officer has the final say

A DSB-licensed range officer is present on every lane. Their instructions are binding – from the first touch of the gun to the command to clear the lane. If you do not understand an instruction, ask; if you do not follow it, you leave the lane.

The safety briefing before shooting is mandatory and part of every booking. It takes a few minutes and explains the range, the signals and the four safety rules.

  • Every gun is always treated as loaded.
  • The muzzle always points towards the target, never at people.
  • The finger stays outside the trigger guard until the target is in your sights.
  • The target and what lies behind it are known before every shot.
05

Equipment and clothing

We provide hearing protection and safety glasses, and they are worn on the lane at all times. Wear closed shoes and clothing that is closed at the neck – hot casings are ejected to the right and upwards. Please tie back long hair. Your own firearms and ammunition may only be brought along by prior arrangement and with the required permits.

06

Accompanying persons and spectators

Accompanying persons are welcome. They remain behind the safety line or in the waiting area, wear hearing protection there as well and follow the range officer's instructions. Photos and video recordings on the lane are only permitted with the consent of the range officer and of the people shown.

07

Health and fitness to shoot

Shooting demands concentration and a steady stance. If you do not feel fit on the day, postpone – we will rebook your appointment. We advise pregnant women against visiting the lane (noise, gunshot residue). Please let us know in advance of any medical condition that limits safe handling; we can usually find a suitable programme.

08

House rules and exclusion

The shooting sports centre exercises its right of admission. In the event of a breach of these terms – in particular the zero-tolerance alcohol rule or the range officer's instructions – participation ends immediately. No refund is due in this case. Booking, cancellation and vouchers are governed by our general terms and conditions.
